Goodbye Purple House!

No, we aren't moving. We are finally painting over the hideous purple paint that has made our house the landmark eyesore of the neighborhood. Unfortunately, now it isn't as easy to tell people how to find us. No more, "It's the purple house, you can't miss it.". I think I can live with that.
The boys were willing helpers.
I'm not sure how this will compute later with Lukas when he gets it it his mind that he can now draw on the walls.

Nikolas was actually a great worker, in fact, I would say this project gave me hope that he may be a good helper as he grows. Up to this point, he has been less than interested in doing any chore of any kind. Laziness is not an option in this household, but for him to work with a cheerful heart is what I really am striving for. Since painting week he has actually continued to help me in bigger ways, and willingly! We have progress!
The beginning of the project started in large part because of my dad. He brought his ladder over two full days and scraped and scraped and scraped. Even while I was in and out of the house with the boys, he just kept scraping. Thanks Dad!

Tone' spent one of his weekends home spraying. He had a fine brown coating over his entire body afterward. Fun for him:)

Nikolas felt UBER important climbing the ladder to hand Tone' a tool. He kept finding things Daddy "needed". You can be sure we put the ladder away every night as I'm sure we would have heard little feet on the roof otherwise.

TaDa!!!
Okay, so not perfect yet. We still need to take the storm windows off and then paint the trim and the doors. I did get up on the roof and sweep the paint off, though.

We opted for "Caramel" otherwise known as tan. It seemed the most neutral color we could paint, and boring and neutral was what I was going for after all those years of it being PURPLE!
